Auburn star Johni Broome sustains apparent shoulder injury

Auburn forward/center Johni Broome, one of the top players in the country, was injured two minutes into the second-ranked Tigers' home game against Georgia State on Tuesday night.
After making a layup at one end of the court and blocking a shot at the other, Broome was subbed out for Chaney Johnson. He left for the locker room and during a media timeout, he was seen on the bench in a hoodie with ice on his right shoulder.
The team later ruled Broome out for the rest of the game, according to the ESPN+/SEC+ broadcast. He returned to the bench with his right arm in a sling.
Entering play Tuesday, the 6-foot-10 fifth-year player was leading the country with 12.7 rebounds per game, and he led the Southeastern Conference with 2.8 blocks per contest. He was second in the SEC in scoring (19.7 ppg) while also averaging 3.8 assists per game.
